Re: Stern Anchoring?

Just to make sure we're all on the same page here, I'm asking whether it's safe to anchor from the stern. Not necessarily asking if I can tie an anchor line to the cleats. I appreciate the feedback, but it seemed like my initial question was confusing.

Stern Anchoring?

Curious question about anchoring. I was fishing the other day on a wind blown shoreline and found a great spot with a lot of fish. I fought it with the trolling motor, and it worked ok. It would have been easier to anchor but my boat doesn't have room to fish off the back. Would it have been ok to d...

Re: on board charger

Here is what I would do if I were you. 1) Check the fluid in your batteries. Make sure your charger isn't "boiling" your batteries. 2) Clean your charger off and go a week or two where you charge with your battery hatch open to allow ventilation to see if that white stuff comes back. Also, do you se...

Re: on board charger

I have never seen that but my first thought is salt. You boat in saltwater? My second thought would be that you're getting some deposits from the degassing of your batteries as they charge. I know those batteries can expulse hydrogen gas among other things. If you are charging multiple batteries in ...

Re: 2013 Yamaha 90 hp squealing

I've been reading up on this problem and it seems like it may be the drive shaft bushing needing to be greased. Weird though because I thought Yamaha fixed this problem several years ago.

2013 Yamaha 90 hp squealing

Hey guys, got a problem I want to run by you. My wife and I got the boat out today and took it for a nice long run without the kiddo with us. Let me tell you, it was HOT today. Temp got up to 105 with a heat index of 115! Towards the latter half of our day, when the temp really started climbing, I n...

Re: Used Pontoon prices.

Some of that is probably a result of the time of year you are looking. Check again in the winter and I bet you could find a better deal.

Re: Garmin 53dv at Cabelas

I read the other day that lowrance just won a settlement in federal court regarding their "chirp." Basically, garmin tells their customers that they get a full hi-res image, but the reality is that their chirp image is a synthetic image. To get the good image, lowrance will integrate the side scan a...

Boat lift Question

Guys, I have a quick question. The bunks on my boat lift seem to have the correct separation; however, on occasion, I don't get the pontoon perfectly centered, so the bunks on one side or the other don't perfectly cradle the pontoon. For instance, there will be a small gap between the pontoon and on...

Ready to go Boating

Argh!!! Keystone is up another 2 ft again, and our floodgates are closed. Need the water to drop 5 ft before I can even get to the marina. Maybe middle to end of June before the water level drops. Man, I want to go boating. I guess I will live vicariously through you all. How is everyone else's seas...

Re: Spring in Oklahoma

Argh! My lake was dropping and it was only 2 ft from the water dropping below the road to the marina, and they got a couple of inches of rain last night! The lake is on its way up again! :censored :censored

I guess I'm going to take the kayak down to lawtonka and try and get a few walleye's.

Re: Spring in Oklahoma

Keystone is starting to slow down, but they still aren't releasing water. The Arkansas river must still be full. It took them nearly 2 months to lower the water to a usable elevation 2 years ago. It's really a bummer too as this will negatively impact the local businesses.

Re: Spring in Oklahoma

I guess keystone is up above the bridge that gets me to the marina, so I won't be boating anytime soon. The corp's also isn't releasing water anytime soon as all of the rivers are still swollen. The marina is running a pontoon shuttle, but with no power to raise the lift and no access to fuel, I'm S...
