Re: Dual Bimini Top

Have 3, covers completely (Love it) (custom made) Can have Center Back, Center Only, Center Front, or Center Front & Back.
Since the wife got a small touch of skin cancer - she now likes all three, or at least two up.
Ddancers, Do not charge your batteries with the motor connected. Unplug, or disconnect it.
Thanks for info (joe20toon) - however I always disconnect before charging. Wondering if battery quality has an effect. Been using two 27 group Wal-Mart Batteries. Have to get new bat...

Re: Minn Kota Powerdrive 45?

I have the TERROVA 80lb thrust on my 25' boat and with winds up to 10 MPH does a decent job at 70% power setting. I know a 55lb unit would been disappointing. I didn’t want to have to go with a 24 volt system for obvious reasons, but research convinced me I had to. Now glad I did. The iPilot Terrova...

Re: Minn Kota Powerdrive 45?

I also tend to agree 45lb thrust for 24' boat might be a bit small.
I know most try to avoid 24 volt 2 battery setup, but in any kind of wind at all the 45lb even 55lb will have a hard time even wide opened.

Re: Harris - new pontoons on order

As it turned out after 2 years of cavitation issue because the 115 setup, and lower weight I ended up with a 150HP. The dealer just couldn't correct problem with the mounted 115hp and offered full credit if I upgraded to 150hp. They were able to use a cupped prop with the 150hp and the problem is go...

Re: New Slip Owner!

So much easier having a slip, and more time to enjoy boat.
I leave motor down. I was told it's better to do so, forget the reasoning, but I've had a slip for various boats for 9 years, and always have left motor down.
Also looked around 98% of the 375 plus slips leave motor down.

Re: Sweetwater 24’ 150 HP Question

If I were you, I would be veerrryyy sure your dealer will make it right if you still have the ventilation issue. He would have to give me a sworn document stating that if this short 150 blows out he will swap it for a long shaft. I am now stuck with a 20' Sweetwater with the same problem and my mot...

Re: Trolling Motor Mounting

I ended up with a Minn Kota Terrova 80/US2 80-lb Thrust Freshwater Bow Mount Trolling Motor with i-Pilot, 60" Shaft. (Setup forward) Setup with quick release also, and remove in the winter. Because I have side gates I just lift it up high, and lock if passengers are not fishing. Love the I-Pilot and...

Re: Sweetwater 24’ 150 HP Question

End of Story I HOPE! Well the 150 HP finally installed, and cavitation issue is gone. I was hoping to get better WOT Speed, but the ride was so sweet by comparison I'm just glad to be done with it. The service department claims they had it up to 33 GPS, I saw 31.8, but believe if well-trimmed 33 is ...

Re: MUST have Option

I would now go with 3rd tube (tri) better stability, improved speed for same motor size 115 and up, more storage, and usually larger gas tank. One thing I did do right is I had waste down installed. Don't know how I would manage cleaning deck, and fish blood without it. Mine works well, but would in...

Re: Clamp on rod holders for ski bar

That is one impressive setup Dan. In my case 80% of the time I fish alone, and on a lake. CT. State law is 3 poles per person but would sure improve catch if I had a few more. :)
