Racor Plastic Bowl leak

Anyone have any probs with the plastic fuel bowl under the Racor water separator filter leaking? Seems like the gasket they provided with my replacement unit sure was cheesy. Took my boat out and of course it died when air got in the system. i was able to tighten enough to get back in, but i don't t...

Transom Saver

Does anyone use a transom saver attachment when trailering their toons? What is the optimum position to tilt the outboard once you get underway on the road? Seems like it could put undue stress on transom.

Re: trolling motor size

Another consideration may be your battery setup, and what you're willing to do for a higher thrust motor. Your friend's motor is probably a 12V setup, whereas if you go to, say, a 70 lb thrust motor like my Minnkota PowerDrive, you will probably need another battery for 24V to the motor if you're no...

Re: Need a new trailer

Ok. A trailer question... What do you want in regard to flexibility? I can only guess you would like to be mobile. How far are you going to the launch? No matter get brakes even if they are not required by your state. Surge kind at a minimum. You may sell this thing and the purchaser may not have t...

Need a new trailer

When I purchased my Harris toon, I did not need a trailer as the boat is kept on a lift in my boathouse. I now find it desirable to store my toon on a trailer for flexibility. Is it better to go back to the outfit that I bought the boat from to get the correct trailer, or is there a better source in...

Re: 20' tritoon with a 150hp

I have a Honda 150 on the back of a Harris 24', and the best I can get out of her is 38 mph (gps) with 2 people and full load of fuel. I don't see how you can get the 48 mph claimed.

Re: Honda BF200 - Not running right - disapppointed

Honda makes a good outboard-don't give up on her yet. I have around 250 hrs of problem-free service on my BF150. You may want to check out this website: http://www.marineengine.com/boat-forum/forumdisplay.php?21-Honda-Outboard-Forum It's a Honda outboard owners' forum, and there are several experien...

Re: Maximum Capacity - will this thing sink?

I had 13 adults on mine one Fourth of July, and she did just fine. However, conditions were calm. I think lake conditions should always be a factor when deciding how much to load the boat. Also, make sure you have enough life jackets for everyone.

Re: Source for Honda shop repair manuals

You might want to check out the Honda Owners Forum, http://www.marineengine.com/boat-forum/forumdisplay.php?21-Honda-Outboard-Forum. There are many folks on that site with tons of Honda outboard experience. Most will tell you to get the Helm manual, as it seems to be the most accurate and comprehens...

Re: IP camaras

Ditto on the Foscam. I've had one in operation at my lakehouse for a couple of years with no problems. I did have a challenge setting up "port forwarding" on my router to allow remote access, but it was more of a router issue than a camera issue. I think he ip cam cost around $100.
