New guy from WI. Interweb surfing now that boating is done.

#1 Post by JeffS » Sat Oct 18, 2014 6:29 pm

Boat is all tucked away for the long Wisconsin winter. So I am interweb surfing waiting for spring. I set up this new account, filled in the profile info (sorry for the political rant in my signature...just couldn't resist after seeing so many...), and copied the picture url from over at club.bennington.

I'm new to a pontoon, but not new to boating by any stretch. Double digit number of boats in my personal history books. From wave runners, through a 16 footer all the way up to a 43' cruiser. I don't have many questions after all the years and all those boats. But I can maybe add a thing or two.

Our boat is a Bennington 2250GBR TriToon. 2014 model with a 2014 Yamaha 200hp. Every option and max HP. Full sea grass floor. Refrigerator. Bar with fresh water system and sink. Underwater lighting. Exterior lighting. Interior mood lighting (undercounter, cup holders, etc.). Garmin Echo 300. 53" tow pylon. SPS. Rough water package. Full underskin. In floor storage. Wash down system and shower. Power assist hydraulic steering. Pillow top upholstery. 4 step ladder. Raised helm. Wetsounds stereo with sub. Power bimini with lighting. LED docklights. Privacy chaise with porta potti. Heavy duty rub rail. Sharkhide tube protectant. And of course - the blackout edition. All sitting on a very nice heavy-duty Phoenix trailer with a 5,500lb capacity. Other than that - a pretty basic boat.

Much of my boating is on the great lakes, so we looked for a boat that could handle true rough water. Not inland rough water...real rough water. So far, love the boat. We picked up the boat end of July this year, and ticked 93.5 hours on the hour-meter before putting it away last weekend. Great year in my opinion.

So - hi everyone!

Thanks for the compliments. We get a lot of them. Just about every outing...a stranger or two go out of there ways to say something nice and ask questions.

Boating and talking boating is what we do here......mostly. We love our boats and always glad to help those that ask questions. We also care deeply for this country and when we like or don't like what is going on in respect to our government we voice that as well.

Feel free to participate in any discussions you have interest in Also feel free to avoid anything you don't want to participate in.
