Pontoon with Upper deck, any advice?

#1 Post by FourD's » Wed Feb 06, 2013 9:10 am

My husband and I are very interested in the Premier with upper deck and slide. Does anyone have any experience with this model. I'm a little concerned about the load it can hold. We have four kids and always have lots of people hop on our boat. Does anyone have any info about this? How strong is the upper deck? Should we worry and actually have to keep count of how many are up there at once? How sturdy is it really?

We'd very much appreciate any advice.

You don't have to be concerned about the weight carrying capability of the big Premier. And the top is perfectly strong. The large model is 10 1/2 feet wide--2 feet wider than most pontoon boats. And the Premier seats are really, really plush.

Warning: I saw one at our local boat show with twin 250 hp motors, and it had a list price of $115K. Knock off one engine, and it's be $92K. But they'll come far off that in the real world deal.

My Party Cruiser has an upper deck and the warning sticker says 4 persons or 600 lbs on the upper deck. I've had WAY over that on many occasions without problems.

Just don't plan on towing it very far. That will really catch the wind. Also hard when docking if the wind is blowing. On the other hand, nice shade and those slides look super fun.

They seem dangerous to me. We walked around on one at the boat show. They are awesome, but I kept imagining a wet kid slipping on the ladder and getting hurt. Maybe I just worry too much.

MAJOR LEAGUE KICK IN THE PANTS. More fun than us old people should be allowed to have! We don't have one, it won't fit in the covered parking, or the covered slip in the Marina, but close friends do. If I didn't love our river house and private marina we would have moved so we could have that upper deck. Picture in your minds eye a 68 year old man on the slide with his granddaughter. Something about a beer on the upper deck just tastes better. One draw back, YOUR 'TOON will be the one everyone wants to ride in. YOU will become very popular!!

I've had my boat 6 years and had ONE person fall off. At Canal Days...and he was drunk as hell. :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
