Tailgate.. welcome to the group and congratulations on the new benny.... I've found that fishing out of pontoon boat is a lot more relaxing... the ability to stand up and walk around allows you to stay out on the lake for longer periods... true, you may not be able to get up into some of the area's you could with a bass rig, but I'll take comfort any time.....

Welcome, Looks good, I was looking at them, so this is an add on you can get for it I'm guessing, you think they would sell one that came that way, and didn't they have one you could set to keep you a certain distance from shore while trolling ?

Welcome, as a fellow texican, and brother in retirement I hope you enjoy the forum. Lake Waco seems like a nice place to boat. You will love the pontoon but we really need to stop saying that because soon everyone will want one and they will become more expensive! :biggrin2 :biggrin2 :biggrin2

If you get over to any of the lakes in East Texas, give me a heads up and I will water test that troll motor with you!

Just another shout out for the I-Pilot System
I-Pilot System is truly one of the best things to come along in years. I had a Trophy 1802 with an autopilot system, but the I-Pilot actually has many more features.
The only downfall is under continuous use I get max of 4 hours on average doing 2.0 to 2.8 mph.
There's No power at slip and two group 27 batteries even with a tote cart for recharging is not much fun.
Have to look into solar power in spring I hear it's come a long way.
Sweetwater rep said 55 lb trust 12 volt system would suffice sure glad I did some forum/ web surfing and went with the Terrova 80lb instead.
Most of the time it does a super job, but when winds get up near 20 mph it struggles at max setting.
Can't believe a 12 volt system would be functional except on completely calm days. So get the right unit for your toon if you buy one.
Using the trolling motor in conjunction with engine can give me 4 to 6 outings before I need to recharge the batteries and the 115 hp does a very good job trolling.

Likely will be posting for Solar power feedback soon.
