New Sun Tracker owner in San Diego

#1 Post by throwinrox » Mon Apr 13, 2015 12:31 pm

Hello from sunny but dried up San Diego. Just bought a 2005 Tracker 21' Fishin Barge with 60 hp Bigfoot. Only 9 hours on it. Dual axle trailstar trailer. First time boat owner. Spent most of my time in the imperial County sand dunes? I've been reading alot of topics and trying to learn as much as I can from you guys.

I have been trying to figure out combined weight of the boat and this trailer? I know the package weight of boat and motor should be 1739#. I can't find a weight for the trailer. My tablet won't let me search topics. If somebody can point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard throwinrox, always happy to see another Sun Tracker show up. The only way you will get a usable weight is to find a truck scale and weigh it. Anything you come up with doing calculations is guesswork.

+1 on the scale, or at least some one with the same rig that knows what their boat and trailer weighs.

BTW Welcome and hope you enjoy your new boat it looks good in the picture! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I figured if somebody didnt already know what the weight might be I would just take it to the local gravel pit and ask to put it on their scale. Thanks

We have the 21' Fishin' Barge too, with the same motor. Couldn't be more pleased with how she handles, comfortable, great fishing platform. Our next purchase will be a bigger motor tho, so we can get there (or OUTA there if there's a storm brewing) with a bit more speed.

Congrats and have some great times!

Thanks landlocked. I am affraid that I may be a little or a lot underpowered when it's time to head up river.
