New pontoon, new here

#1 Post by jester0618 » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:19 am

Morning all. Jeff from Ohio. Wife and I just traded our Sweetwater 2286 toon in on a new Aquapatio 220 SLC. Went from 2 toons to 3, 90 hp to 150. What a difference! Towing a tube was easy, ride was smoother, and just all around more enjoyable.

We normally hang out on Marble lake near coldwater, Michigan.

Hey Jeff,
I have that same boat you just traded up for!!! Bought new in 2010 and loving it. This was our first boat so nothing to compare it too...but we are some happy with our Aqua Patio!
Cheers!

Jeff,

Welcome! It appears we are in the same neck of the woods. Our place is over in Hillsdale County, off 99. Bird Lake. Just south of Hillsdale. We head over to Coldwater for shopping, and did the Little River Steam Railroad excursions a lot when our grandson was younger. He is almost 8, and appears to have outgrown his obsession with trains. Trying to convince him that pontoon boats are better than trains...lol.

We looked at a couple of placed on Marble Lake, and our realtor even had a place there. We ended up at Bird Lake where the startup costs were a little lower for us. Got us on the water, and lovin every minute of it!

That sounds like a nice set up with the new raft. Enjoy!

P.S. We are from Ohio too! Sylvania/Toledo

Looks like we purchased the same boat. My wife and I bought a 2286 on the 2nd. So far we're very happy, but we've already had 3 warranty issues that the dealer is working...all minor. The front door latch is pinching, the rear bimini is stained/discolored in a couple of spots, and a few fasteners from the cover ripped out on a short tow to the lake at about 50 MPH.
