New Member & Boat Owner- Las Vegas, NV

#1 Post by Valet37 » Mon Jun 08, 2015 6:53 pm

Greetings!

We just got our new Sweetwater 2286 tri-toon with a Mercury 150hp motor. It's our first boat and we couldn't be happier. Spent Saturday on the Colorado River just below hoover dam. It was a blast, and I can't wait to finish breaking in the motor so we can see how fast it goes.

Thanks for all the great advice on this forum. We've got a couple of mods we're planning on doing and I'm sure that we'll be asking for advice as we go along!

Cheers!

Nice boat and Welcome! Love the clarity of that water.

The height of your anchor light? Is that a local requirement? Seems really high, mine is only about a foot above my Top.

Thanks. I'm not sure about the height requirement for the anchor light. That's something is should look in to! My guess is that it's nowhere near as high as I've got it.

The water here is gorgeous. Wife and I have been kayaking up and down the river for the last few years and it's always crystal clear. Using the fish finder as a gauge, I've found that you can see the bottem all the way to about 20'.

Here are a couple more pics. Before you ask, I remembered to put the anchor light down before towing it ;)

Sweet boat! I was stationed at Nellis in the 70's. I still have many fond memories of Vegas (and can't get that stupid TV station slogan out of my head - "KVVU TV 5 Henderson, Laaaaaas Vegas"). Welcome!
