New member from Mississippi

#1 Post by KevinMs » Tue Jun 23, 2015 7:48 pm

Hello everyone. I just purchased a Tracker Fishing Barge 20' with a 60 hp four stroke. I spent some time in my youth on bass boats but never really even owned a boat until now. This purchase was a compromise between the wife and myself. While I wanted a bass boat, she wanted something a little more geared towards her idea of recreation, so together we struck a balance. This past weekend was the first time we had it on the water and I'm surprised to say I absolutely loved it. I feel like it completely filled each of our family members expectations. My daughter( she is 4) can fish till she gets tired, I can fish and the wife can relax and stretch out. I haven't even had the boat a week and already making modifications. I installed a two bank charger with a water proof external plug. Makes it much easier to charge the trolling motor battery by just plugging in a cord on the outside instead of having to crawl under the cover. I look forward to learning as much as possible from you guys and being relatively new to this, I have a whole lot to learn.

Welcome :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup Sounds like you are all getting a lot of enjoyment already...

I have a built in battery charger with dual battery set up and switch. It has the external plug under a watertight cap and it makes it VERY handy to just plug in from the outside and charge. Only problem I have with ours is that the plug keeps falling back into the storage area where the batteries are. I think I need to rig up something to keep the end of the plug stationary right under the outside cap. if you figure out a solution when you do yours, please post it.

Again, welcome to this awesome forum!
