A few weeks ago, we purchased our 1st boat. We got a 1981 Kayot 24' with an upper deck. It has a 1981 50 hp Johnson. It is absent of most furnature and the console is falling apart (I made it serviceable for now). It is in pretty good shape with a few minor issues.

We sold our older travel trailer to pay for her. We mostly tent camp or backpack, so the trailer was mostly only used for the 3 week memorial campout at Lake Britton for Memorial Day. It is only 13 miles from the house and we just get up early for school. 52 nights in a row is our record. We will now use tents and the boat.

We have 3 boys, aged 6, 9, and 12 and 2 dogs. We will use the boat for camping, fishing, partying with friends (adults and kids), deer hunting, and just hanging out on Lake Britton and Shasta Lake.

Our plans are many, but include; a sleeping platform over the stern with storage underneath, extending the upper deck four feet aft moving the rest of the roof over the sleeping deck, new vinyl, trolling motor, live well, custom console, a swim deck, and many more.

We have had her out twice on the lake and she performed pretty well. Some minor issues, but I will post another thread.

I know! Beaching skis. The protection on the upper part of the bow is nice too. We nosed up to a concrete pillar and tied on to fish with no worries.
