I have had a 2004 Bennington 22RL with a full enclosure and done up just the way I wanted it. Wife and I both got a wild hair and decided we wanted to try the cruiser style of boating. Well, we bought a 30 Carver Santego 1 1/2 years ago after selling our Bennington. What a @$^&*$ mistake that was!!!!!

Every time I turned around that boat cost me money, big money. Just to have it pulled , stored and shrink wrapped for the winter using my tri axle trailer it cost me $850.00. Then you factor in the cost and my time of winterizing 2 350 cid motors and outdrives. Now take into consideration come spring tiome I spent 32 hours and about $200.00 buffing, cleaning and just stupid general maint. just to get it ready to put back in the water. Once in the water with perfecltly tuned twin 350s I was getting about 3/4 of a mile to a gallon. with it being 30 foot boat that was 36 foot overall length, I was paying a small furtune to dock it also.

I decided I needed out. Totally missed the pontoon style of boating. I could beach ANYWHERE! My dog could jump off and go swimming, pee, poop, what ever he needed to do. Long story short, I ended up making about $5,000. on the sell of the cruiser compared to what I payed. What a relief knowing I was not going to have to clean the bottom and winterize that big SOB again this Fall!!!!!

I stumbled across a 2013 South Bay with a teak full vinyl floor, 115 Yamaha, and get this 37 total hours. Got a GREAT deal on it and even though I had to go 350 miles to see it, and now have to buy a trailer and go back 350 miles to get it, got it at about $5000. below NADA. I am so friggin happy I could poop!

I all ready have my appointment set up with my canvas guy for a full enclosure and new mooring cover for 8 21,. I am pumped and once again will be a regular here!

Congratulations on the new south bay... and Welcome back... Sounds like your 30 footer was a huge expense not to mention pain in the rear.... bet you get better gas mileage with your 115 on that southbay....

Welcome back. I always thought those larger boats would be fun, but only if you had the bucks to farm out all that "fun" stuff to someone else. I don't have those bucks and don't have the time. Love my toon
