New to me JC Tri-toon

Hello,

First time here. Just purchased a 2004 JC Tri-toon 26'6" with a 350 Mercury MAG 5.7 with 187 hours on it. I didn't spend a lot of time researching it but from what I could find the JC is a high quality boat. I'm upgrading from my 1980's Suntracker Party Barge 24' with a 1987 Mercury 90, which I've had numerous expensive problems with. I know very little about engines so I'm hoping this is a good dependable engine. Does anyone have experience with either my boat or engine to tell me what I'm in for? Looking forward to getting it in the water!

Mark

Jealousy from other pontoon owners? I like everything I have seen about the JC, but never put my hands on one.
Sounds Like a nice boat, any photos?

Very, very nice, I looked at the completed ebay listing just to be nosey. I'm sure you will get lots of input here. I'm new but from what little time I've spent here I'm impressed with all the knowledge and like minded owners.

Yes it seems clean but I did plop down a chunk of money for it, sight unseen, so it's always a risk I guess. However I'm hoping I got a good buy. Spending 26k on a 6 year old pontoon seems a little dicey....! Sure was sick of having a disabled boat though. That'll spoil your weekend in a hurry.

Worst case scenario you decide its not what you want, you can still bail out, the next low bid was $100 less than yours. Ebay can be a great source for many things, I have bought several big ticket items, boat, 5th wheel, skid steer, and many smaller items and always done well, often making a profit when I sell. Its comforting to know that you were only a bid increment ahead of the next guy.
I'm sure you did quite well and I wish the best with your sweet new boat.

Thank you Roland and Turd Tracker! I'm looking forward to checking out you folks and the forum. I'll use the boat on the choppy Oneida Lake near Syracuse and also for cruising on the Erie Canal, hopefully with some camping gear, grille, and a couple of bikes. I'm sure I better get educated on maintaining and using the Mercruiser. I'm curious too whether I paid a reasonable price for the boat/trailer. What do you think? I'm sure I paid a premium for hopefully a quality boat (with canvas enclosure) that will last years. Supposedly this boat brand new is about 50k without trailer in 2010. That seems way too much to pay for a pontoon/tri-toon!
