Shallow water, chop, wind
Just became owner of lake home on large lake (40 x 10 miles). I am on the sandy shallow end of the lake (25" at end of 200' dock). Lake can be smooth as silk or with a little wind get a few feet of chop. I am wondering if and what type of pontoon boat would be required to operate on this lake and still allow me to get in to the dock. Most activities would be kid related such as tubing, swimming and cruising. Maybe a little fishing. I am also considering a deck boat but I would probably have to shove out anothe 100' of dock to get to water deep enough to dock. Thanks in advance for any comments or forewarnings or advice

You may want to consider a jack plate or trolling motor for moving around in shallow water

Most toons should be able to operate in 25" of water unless you are really loaded. A tri-toon would sit up a little higher than a double toon. You can trim up your motor and use a trolling motor to dock or a jack plate that can raise the motor height.
