Good morning - new to the forum and to pontoons. Old hat when it comes to every other boat though. After 41 years in Alaska and owning various types of boats through out those 41 years we moved to Idaho (to warm up and dry out)(we lived in Southeast Alaska where it rains a lot). Still have to be on the water - it's just different here. After building a drift boat and buying an inflatable for whitewater we decided on a pontoon (we have grand kids here) for family fun.

I did a fair amount of research and settle on the 20 ft range and was able to find what appears to be a good boat (or at least good bones) for a good price. It might even be a little rare since I can't find any information about them on the internet. It is a Lund built in 1994. They apparently were only built for two years. I have contacted Lund but can't seem to get any information - I can't even find out how many were made.

The old girl is sitting in a storage building with piles of beans stored in front of her so I won't be able to get her out to work on for a couple (long) months. Here are a couple pictures though:Image

As you can see I have upholstery work to do and lots of cleaning. The motor has very few hours (like under fifty) but has been sitting so at a minimum I am sure will need carb. cleaning etc. My hope is to bring her back to a great and dependable boat for lots of great memories. In addition to summer fun and fishing I will be able to use her for fall chukar hunting - it's called a cast and blast here. You fish for bass and crappie until you see or hear chukar and then go ashore and start hiking. Too much fun if you are into that sort of thing. Jon

Sorry - I obviously got a couple things wrong when I posted - don't know why it was so wide and why the pictures didn't post. Maybe so one can set me straight - thanks Jon

Welcome to the club Jon.... and for a 16 year old rig, your boat looks to be in pretty fair shape.. exterior looks good. and as you pointed out, needs some upholstery work done. But you've got all winter to get her ready for spring. Again welcome to the group.

Welcome to the club! It appears to have been a fishing boat based on the low front rail and chairs at each corner (similar to my boat). Let me know if you need any advise on where to go around here, I have had my toon in most of the lakes and reserviours within a few hundred miles. Interestingly enough, I grew up in alaska (spent my first 21 years on the kenai peninsula) and also ended up in Boise buying a pontoon boat! Small world! :nana :fasttoon

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I am sure this forum will prove to be a great resource for information.

Mike we will have to talk off forum so I can pick your brain about spots. I graduated from High school in Anchorage (year of the earth quake) and other than college and Vietnam I spent the rest of the time in the Juneau area. Even managed to take a couple boats from Seattle to Juneau so boating is in my blood. The boating and fishing around here is a bit different - in Alaska I ended up with a 35 foot trawler and specialized in King salmon on little tackle (best ration was 38 lbes on 4 lbe. test) - here it is (going to be) pontoon and small mouth(with a chukar thrown in for good measure here and there). Biggest difference is you can jump in the water and swim here - I was used to the water temp. being about 54 degrees.

Must be some way to do this off line - once I figure it out I will send you my phone number.

Again - hello to all and thanks for the welcome. Jon
