Pontoon Boat & Deck Boat Forum

New to the forum. This looks like a good forum for pontoon boaters. I just bought my first toon a few months ago, nothing special. It's a 87 crest III with a 90 evinrude that runs great. Only seats it had when I bought it were the captians chair and passenger seat. I built a bench seat across the back and we put 2 hard plastic lounge chairs out front (the wife likes to sit out there in the sun. Im looking around for ideas on furniture layout, materials, ect. I am also lookimg for ideas for a new steering console bc the current one is not going to make it much longer. I paid very little for the boat and I dont want to put much it so I am looking for cheap ideas and things that I can build myself. We mainly use it for cruising the lake but also do a good bit of fishing. Thanks

Sorry man but your wrong, it is very special. It don't have to cost $50,000 to be special as it is special to you.

Welcome, glad to have you on board, you don't have to have a 50 thousand dollar toon to impress us, some of the best fun is done sitting still.

Yep you are still leaps and bounds above the guy sitting on the bank with a cane pole. Which is how I started.

If the boat suits your needs, runs okay and provides fun for you and your family it is very "special". Your kids and friends won't care what year it is as long as it's clean and maintained well. And if "friends" look down their noses at your boat, get new friends!

Welcome! Look around on the forum, you'll see some pretty fancy toons and some basic toons. I have never seen anyone degrade or talk down to anyone about the boat that any other person has purchased. If you want help, the folks on this forum will help quickly and with experience. The feeling I have gotten if that if the boat is special to you, it is special to everyone in the forum.
Post some pictures and ask questions. You'll be amazed at how much help you'll get and the enthusiasm of everyone.

Thanks guys. I guess I said it wrong when I said nothing special, it is perfect and just what the wife and I want right now.

bmhayes... welcome to the group my friend.... I'll echo the sentiments of some of the others here.... "nothing special" was the term you used to describe your boat, and I get where you're coming from, but just being able to get out on the lake or river and have a great time with friends and family makes it special. Any questions about tooning, ask away, there is a ton of knowledge and tooning experience on this forum....
