I'm from Orange County, California...
Do not currently have a boat but I am looking into a pontoon and wanted to learn a bit more about them first.
My siblings both have boats and we visit the Colorado very often.

I have alos been considering building my own pontoon boat. (I am very handy if this is an issue)
Doing research now.
Sure you folks will have some input on that idea too.

Lots of good info here.

Anyone that's handy could build a pontoon boat in a couple of days. The parts are readily available online. It's a wonder the new high performance 250 hp tritoons don't kill their owners--as pontoons are so simple.

Unfortunately a home built pontoon would also look like it's homemade. You'd do better to buy an existing used pontoon, and just refurbish it to fit your needs.
