If your deck is screwed pick up an impact driver, it's the only tool you can take a motorcycle apart with, worked great on deck screws too.

I've done a lot of toons over the years, so I may be biased but with 3-4 guys it should be no sweat. Last one we tore down didn't have seating on it (other than captians chair/helm) but myself and my buddy took it down to the frame and removed the transom in just over 2 hours. It goes fast when your're not worried about the old seats or decking. :nana

If my nieces wern't in school, I'll send them up to help you, that's one thing I like this is a family rebuild, Dad is coming by again to help with the polishing, my brother, his wife and the girls have all helped, so it's going to mean even more to them when we are out on the water.

Hope you get a lot done, don't forget to take the camera, we love pictures of other people working :rofl

Well we made it down!!! Got more done than expected! Halfway done pulling wood off. :nana The screws were super corroded. The seat bolts just snapped off, Deck screws, no chance using any kind of screwdriver. I am not sure who I got the idea from but the hole saw saved our ass. We just need to take a sawzall down next time and shave the bolts off. Three of the seats were pretty bad may not have made it through the year. The deck was decent except for against the rails, and at the ladder were the worst. With the panel risers and the drain troughs under the seats it should dry right out once the rebuild is done. :thumbsup :thumbsup I think I screwed up my throttle control I couldn't figure out how to seperate it and got pissed off and just left it in the old console. (DOES ANYONE HAVE AN EXTRA TOP MOUNT CONTROL?????) The new helm is made for top mount and my current one is side mount, Ebay has them for 300 so I told the kids Fathers day and birthday from them all....there were so many wires!!! I just hope I can get everything hooked back up. Had to baby sit Grand-daughter when I got home so I took the new Captains Chair downstairs and played old school nintendo 64 with my pontoonstuff.com shirt!

Told you to take the inpact driver, but did you listen, I was thinking about getting the hole saw out till my brother pull the driver and hammer out and removed most of them, a few broke.

But it looks like you got a lot done in a short time :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I also want to thank Kenneth (redbeard) his place is about 15 miles away from mine by land, and he called to check up on me.... Offered to come look at his rebuild. By the time we got to the 4th board we called it quits we were pretty beat. Those seats were not light as water logged as they were.

Last night I got all my gauges out of the old console. I am going to start putting them in the new console and have it ready to go.

I did find a top mount control for 179. So I think I will go that route. I just could not figure out how to take the old one apart!!! :donno :donno :donno

MOre pics.
