Well the temps just aren't going to be warm enough to lay the carpet :x :x So we are going to clean the rails and put in the new transom. and just do some clean up of the lots and I got a leak in my water heater from the cold ass winter I need to look at...
I am getting ready to cut the boards now. My question is how important is fiberglassing it???

THE FLOATER is never on the water more than 8 hours. Do you think if I use liquid nails and screws that would be good enough?

The previous owner just put the two boards together and bolted them in.

What do you guys think?

here's pics of the old one...

My wood is surrounded by metal front and rear, but still open to water on the bottom, but just the wood would work if it's marine grade, I was supprised mine from the factory wasn't marine grade and went to crap, so if it wasn't for the metal my engine would have hit the ground a long time ago

Well cutting the boards went pretty good!

Off by a 1/16th on one of the angles.... If I only had a table saw!!

I think its damn near perfect for a cordless skill and sawzall...

Even though the old one was sagging it was a bitch to get out!!! My initial measurements were almost perfect I had to trim less than a half an inch....

The toon cleaning didn't go so well I think I will try one more bottle. The front and very rear look good the rest black streaks I know I should try and sand them a bit.

Next weekend may be a go on the carpet....high 60's to 70's.. :prayer :prayer

We put a whole tube of liquid nails and 20 screws to join the two boards that transom is going no where!

WE got most of the leaves burnt as well!

Well boys looks like the carpet is finally going down!!!! My daughter has her last gymnastics meet of the season this weekend for State Championchips, so I will be taking vacation on MOnday and Tuesday to put down the carpet. 80 both days and low of 60. I will be flying solo so we will see how that goes. I hope to have carpet down by noon on Monday and Ill try and clean all my rails while it dries. Then start on console, wiring and rear seat section on Tuesday. Wish me luck!

You can make your tubes look really good with SOS pads like I did to mine. I did an acid wash then hit them very good with the SOS pads being careful to hit every inch with a good even pressure then acid washed again. It will give the aluminum a nice new look but it will be a brushed finish.

Just to let you know I had to add an aluminum plate to my helm as it got weak in the sun an allowed the steering wheel to move and were not even as hot as we are going to get, i get some pictures of it when I see it as my engine guy is taking care of it since he still has the toon waiting for the control cables and noticed it first.
