Most welcome... :thumbsup

I can see myself making this purchase just for the fuel used option. I don't know about other boats but I don't see the gas gauge in my boat as being highly accurate, it changes quite a lot between sitting and underway. Now you can reset to zero at fill up and keep an easy watch on gallons used as well as watching current use... One can now try slight changes in RPM to look for the sweet spot in fuel used in relationship to load and speed. We have a system on board ship called FuelTrax that does this an much more but it can save us 22 % in fuel use while only robbing of of a couple 1/10's of MPH...

Looks like I have a window of opportunity to get the boat at this Friday afternoon. Temp is supposed to be 55 light wind out of the south at 5MPH :nana If you can't tell, I'm excited to see how she does with the new found power....

Resurrecting this thread, as I'm considering sending my ECU out this week.

Playing email tag with Debbie @ Simons. She mentioned lightening of the flywheel for an extra $200. ($650 for the 'puter flash)

Has anyone had the flywheel done? And even, if not, anyone got any concrete results yet?

I had my ECM flashed this winter, I was hoping to splash it Sunday but now they are calling for snow and a low of 21 degrees
Saturday nite. I don't think this winter will ever end.
It has been colder the last 2 weeks than it has been most of the winter

I will post results soon as it warms up

I'd not do that unless I was building a true high performance engine for a high performance boat and even then I'd have to think hard about lightening the flywheel... A heavy flywheel will build more rotational mass or enteria than a light one will to which my opinion you need to heavy flywheel momentum when we are moving around at idle speeds. Also the heavy flywheel also absorbs more vibrations and keeps the engine smooth.

Agree on the light flywheel, that is for high RPM quick RPM transition application, ie racing. On a pontoon, it is not a good idea.

I am also considering the simon upgrade for my motor. What grade of gas is required after doing the reflash ? I always use 100% regular grade now and wondering if I would have to go to 93 octane to get the full effect .

Same octane as before... I went with Simon's ECM Upgrade on my 75 and while I don't think it is truly putting out 115 HP due to RPM limiter on the 75 that the 90 and 115 do not have I do find that the motor has an entirely large amount of torque and does not slow down very much with the double bimini tops open, or having 4 people on board as compared to just 2 people. One thing I really do see is an improved MPG as compared to the 2014 60 HP motor I had on the previous year as I can cruse at the same speed (14 to 16) as the 60 did while burning less fuel (5.5 verse 4.0 to 4.2 GPH)

Here are the results of my ecm upgrade
i was running 27 mph at 5600 rpm with a 13.4 x 15 4 blade merc prop
with the Simon upgrade i am now running 28 mph at 5800 rpm with the same merc 13.4 x 15 4 blade merc prop.
very disappointing to say the least.
it does seem to pull a little better with a large group on board, maybe a little more torque.
not sure what to do if anything next, i did try a 13.8 x 13 pitch 4 blade prop last year before the upgrade and that lowered my speed to 22 mph at 6,300 rpm.
i guess i could try a 3 blade 15 pitch prop but getting tired of spending money.
I would have thought that we would have a better return for the money spent, I guess that is the nature of the beast
it is hard to push a barge thru the water, not blaming Simon but I think the money would be better spent elsewhere.

i guess i should save up the the new 150 hp tritoon.

i am running regular pump gas on this motor, we run thru about 10 gallons a week end on average so it doesn't sit long, Premium is not required.

crookedlaker,
For what it's worth, I agree with you. I would not recommend it.

They will reverse the tune for you if you want and refund your money. All you will be out is the shipping on the two round trips.

Thanks for talking to me Debbie. I forgot to ask, if we want to reverse the tune can that be done and a refund applied?
I heard that this was offered and want to have it straight before I talk with my nephew.
