Carpet glue for aluminum deck
About to replace my carpet on my Suntracker. The deck is aluminum. What brand/glue should I use? I'm told a water base will not work for this application. Need some advice from someone who has been through this process. Also, should I use a trowel or nap roller and how well do I need to remove the old glue? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but unfortunately I received an email from PS yesterday stating the stuff they sell is not recommended for an aluminum deck. Although they have had customers use it with success on aluminum, they recommended a solvent based glue available from any big box store.HandymanHerb wrote:Call PontoonStuff.com ,They will send it fast and we get a discount at PS, I believe the discount code is still forum10

I'm replacing mine also, getting that old carpet off the aluminum is a chore! Any advice from your project you want to pass along? What kind of glue did you end up using?

So I pulled up as much of the carpet I could, left a lot of rubber backing still stuck to the floor. I used Kleen Strip adhesive remover, worked great! Expensive at $28 a gallon and took two gallons just for the front seating area but made the job must easier!
