Wash down pump thoughts
Considering adding a wash down pump to my rebuild project. Since I'm going with the woven vinyl I thought it might be nice to spray er down after the kids track sand on the deck.
Anyone have pictures or locations of best place to install?

I bought this one and just get it out when needed. Works great!

I use a bucket on a rope with whatever water I'm floating in.

Re: Wash down pump thoughts
I am in the process of installing one. Taking a different approach. I'm rebuilding/modifying my new boat to better suit my needs. Part of that was installing a livewell. I mounted a 360 GPH bilge pump on the back of the pontoon. The hose coming off of the pump plumbs into PVC, when the PVC comes through the deck there is a T fitting with a ball valve coming out of the T, and another ball valve shutting off water to the livewell so all of the pressure and volume can go the hose. Honestly I'm not expecting much out of it, I am hoping it will give me enough pressure to rinse surfaces down after scrubbing them. It only cost me maybe $5 to buy the extra parts since I was doing the livewell anyway.

Worth a try... Keep in mind the open impeller as used in most bilge pumps to allow them to run dry without harm prevents them from developing much if any real pressure but should work as long as your not expecting a lot from it....Pontoon Pirate wrote:I am in the process of installing one. Harbor Freight makes a marine 12 volt pump for around 40 bucks that's rated for 10psi and works well as a wash down pump.
