Can't find a model # it's a mid 1990's Merc Quick silver side mount: I don't want to take stuff off in exploration. Anyone able to identify this, know of a link on how to disconnect, or in general have any help.

What I see is in addition to the two linkages are a ton of wires going everywhere.

Ok thank you!

found it's a 2000 commander model.

Seem's I probably shouldn't have opened it : :drink4

The youtube video guy seems to give a lot of good details and has other videos.

Thank you again.

Wow! How ironic!!!! Hate to hijack your post but I have a similar issue. My controller is a little newer but I cant find any info on how to take apart and put back together. Here is my model https://www.iboats.com/shop/quicksilver ... 7YQAvD_BwE

I knew it was a bad idea to open the thing up but I went for it. It took me 2 hours to get it closed back up ......no exaggeration. My issue was that relatively large flat black plastic separator just wouldnt allow the parts to seat. I have no idea how they installed it in the factory but this thing really rattled me. When I got it back together I had the plastic thing more in the middle of the guts vs flat.......now seeing your pic it verifies that it is supposed to be the first thing down. Note....mine is similar to your but definitely different. If anyone has a link to a video that can help be get this thing back together correctly i would appreciate it. I can tell its not correct because the shifter isnt smooth now.
