I'll just post the video of phase 1 and 2 to show the build. Other changes have been made since, but you'll get the idea of this rig. Still going strong after 8 yrs. Some may have seen this already. Old video revamped to include more upgrades, and reloaded a few months back. Here's also a before and after.

Very nice! What does that thing weigh? It's got to be awfully heavy.

Never weighed it finished, but the frame and tubes weighed 1100 lbs. Guessing 3500-4000. I don't know she's as fast or faster than most factory tritoons with 250's. Can't be too much heavier. I don't have all the furniture, but do have 4 - 31 series batteries.

Brian,
I'm so glad you posted over here! Your build was very helpful to me. I hope we can talk further...could use some guidance.
Best Regards,
Bill
We'll give it shot, Bill

Your boat is beautiful and unique! You did a great job on the design details and implementation. What kind of speeds do you see?

Thanks for sharing.
She'll run out 45-50 mph depending on prop and load. Seen 50 a couple times with a big 3 blade running lite. But,my favorite prop is a big 4 blade. Will run 47+ with the 4 blade, and only drop 1-2 mph with another 500 lbs of men onboard. Plus I can stuff the nose into the waves at a higher speed. I could squeeze a lil more out of it by shortening the strakes to get the bow up higher, but like the way it carries a load. She runs pretty flat and will porpoise at 3/4-7/8 trim with the 250. Cruises nice at 40 without much throttle.

Wow! My first thought was "is it even the same boat?" I really like the fence. Very unique.

It really isn't the same boat, other than the outer tubes. Even those tubes are modified. Threw away everything else except a few Z bars that were still straight, and started over. Originally bought it in 2010 for the motor. The Toon was an after thought. After 8 seasons on the water think I'll keep it.

I built my strakes simliar to your build, what is the idea about shortening the strakes? Are you referring to the negative angle strakes that run tight to the back of the transom?

Video is bad azz
Didn't see it earlier....gotta tell us some comments you get from folks on cats/CC's some have got to be doozies

I'm getting too much lift at the stern for top end speed. Starting around 46 mph she's running fairly flat. If I try to trim it on out it'll start porpoising, because the strakes are throwing the nose back down. You can see it running on top of the water at the end of the video. By shortening some strake it would settle in more at the stern and let the bow lift higher, for less tube in the water. How much would take some trial and error. Would eventually cross a line where there's too much drag at the stern. I'd probably shorten the strakes on the outer tubes to help it turn better. At 150 hp the strakes were perfect, but with the 250 they're a lil too much. I like it fine for fishing and crossing chop,so no intentions to change it right now. Doubt I'd see more than a couple mph more anyway. These things really hit a wall at speed.

I've contemplated removing the last 2ft. of strakes on the center toon. I worry the negative angle may trap air and funnel it to the prop. The way my boat rides & feels...the faster it goes the more stern lift I get...then the prop lets go
