Hit a underwater boulder

So... My brand new 2020 Tahoe Quadfish with less than 8 hrs on my Honda 90HP hit a boulder on Lake Elysian in Minnesota today. Obviously this isn't going to be covered under warranty. So my rookie ass needs to fix it himself. Any suggestions?

Ugh, looks like that Assembly Case is anywhere from $1,200-$1,700.00...

Maybe someone could do a weld repair, perhaps a skeg guard or something is also available. Or maybe it didn't lose enough to need to be repaired?

Oil light & alarm came on. I have a feeling the shaft inside the assembly that goes up to the motor bent.

Check with your insurance carrier. It would be covered by my policy.
They told me that damage from submerged logs is the number one claim that they see.

Yep the caution lights are a prob--have it checked out for sure. I dinged my skeg and just installed a stainless steel skeg over it--I had just the tip broken off---maybe an inch or so---it might work for you.. Requires drilling thu the skeg and bolting the new one on. Good luck...

Well if the shaft turns out to be ok, I'd just add a skeg guard. It doesn't look that bad in the picture. Stinks it's a new boat but that's part of the game. Is there oil leaking?
If there is anything wrong with the lower unit ( other than the skeg) it's time for an insurance claim. That's the type of damage you have it for in the first place!
