Hey there Walt,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
In your case, and only because it stays in the water and you have a water line on the boat, I would suggest you remove the old Sharkhide firs with Lacquer Thinner before you re apply. Let me know if you want me to go into detail on how that's done, I'll be more tan happy to.
Now lets say for a minute it's stored out of the water and it's been a year or so. In a case like that, you DON'T have to strip the old coat off. All you need to do is clean and dry the boat off and swipe the new coat right over the old one.
