1992 115hp Mariner - tilt work without all electric hookedUP

#1 Post by sammtoon » Thu Apr 23, 2009 10:39 am

I just installed my mariner on my toon last night, I haven't hooked all the power up yet. I am wanting to move my toon to a more workable place. To do this I need the motor raised, since there isn't any power what is the best or only way to get the motor up? I have read on other sites that if I disconnect the trim bullet connectors and use the blue wire to a postive terminal on the battery that this will raise the motor up? Anyone heard of this? Any help would be appreciated.

On the transom bracket there should be a slot where you can use a screwdriver and release the pressure on the tilt motor. You can then lift motor manually when you get it hooked up just close the screw release
