Hi,
I am changing out a '99' 40 HP Mercury Tracker, currently installed on my 21' Party Barge, to an '07' 75 HP Etec. I do not have any manuals or diagrams at all, the Etec is in a Crate, used, with about 10 hours on it. The Etec is presently set up with the tiller steering upgrade kit and i have to convert it back to remote control.
If anyone could send me any scans of diagrams or manuals pertaining to rigging this engine i would appreciate it. I need to know what i need to obtain in addition to the BRP throttle-shift control box and cables. I have done this before, but there was always a logical way to sling the engine. This engine is so streamlined in shape that there looks to be no good way to grab it. Does anyone know if there are lifting points under the cowl?
I need to know what i need such as a tach, etc I sent a scan of the harness end to show what plugs and wires are there. I have what looks top be the hi temp alarm plugged into one spot and what i think is the diagnostic plug with a dummy. I have an 8 terminal green, a 3 terminal orange triangle and two 3 wire sets.
What is left to tie in, is the tach, tilt, choke, ignition, hour meter, ammeter, oil tank level?
Any info would help.
Thank you
Engine change

Re: Engine change
Thank you for the reply and welcome.
In looking at my post, i have to guess that the reason it comes out about 3 feet wide is because i did not reduce the size of the jpeg, is that correct? I got a new Sony Cybershot camera with like a hundred or so megapixels more than my old one so it looks like they have to be downsized.
A while back our boat club got a new 10 X 30 twin hull aluminum people mover built by Solid Craft, i switched our 90 Johnson over from our old boat and everthing was plug and play. I just slung the engine in a davit and did it right in the water.
However, in looking for the pieces that i need for this job, i seem to be having a tough time getting all the info i need and the prices are like buying Harley parts.
Thanks again
