Adding a third toon

#1 Post by abconstance » Fri Jul 03, 2009 11:52 am

Hi, I am new to the site. I own a 1984 28ft playcraft with a sundeck on top. We have completely restored the toon. It is a blast. My problem is that it rides so low in the back and just plows through the water (slow). I have been looking into several things to try. I am currently putting a 115hp on it (only had a 70hp). I am also skinning the underneath of the framing to cover the cross framing. I looked at the pontoonwaterglide and it looks like a sweet deal, however, I already have 2 spare pontoons at home. They are only 12ft long. The waterglide is around 10 or 12ft long. I was thinking of mounting both of them side by side under the center of the boat. I would start them about 4ft from the back end and they would stop about 2/3rds of the length of the boat. I think it would give me more surface area and lift, but I'm no guru. Any of you have any opinions or knowledge in this, I would appreciate some . Thanks

A while back on another toon forum a guy did that with two between the 2. Most just do one center. Post some pics so we can see what ya got.
