new guy looking for advice.
Hey everyone, Ron from NH here, I'm so new I don't have a boat yet. I've been looking at apex marine quest series on line and really like the concept, but there are 2 dealers up here and they don't have any in stock.I'm wondering if anyone here owns one,or have you guys been on them and what do you think or know about there quality.I'm looking for a small toon to drag all over new england, they even make a 16' tri-toon "sounds like fun". If the dealers don't cooperate I will probably buy a bass buggy."love them too".Any input would be great. Thanks alot guys, glad to finally be here.

Re: new guy looking for advice.
Not sure how large the bodies of water you plan on going on but, anything less than 20 ft on a decent size lake, is like a cork. You will bounce up and down when sitting still and because you aren't able to crest the waves with the front of the boat when moving, you will nose down into them instead of hitting the crest at the top when you have a longer toon. Of course when the water is smooth it doesn't matter what you have for a boat. Just say'n. Short is cute and can put in anywhere, but, if the weather gets rough, better head in.

Re: new guy looking for advice.
I picked up a 16 foot Apex this spring and couldn't be happier with it. Also in NH.
Re: new guy looking for advice.
yea dodger i guess thats my issue. We have a few huge lakes up here,but,80 percent of my boating will be small lakes and a calm river.but if Im not happy with the ride then whats the point. Hey coldbrew Im right across the river from you,you actually look familiar. Mikereno, I have a million questions for you.1st which floor plan did you go with?2nd did you buy from ossippee marine?3rd have you had it on the big lakes If so how did it do?Also where are you in NH? oh almost forgot how much hp and top speed if you know. thanks for all you guys input.

Re: new guy looking for advice.
I took delivery of a Quest Edge 816 SC in May on a small lake in mid- Michigan. We love it. Hauls easily with my Chevy Traverse. Haven't even thought about taking it on big water, but does great on the smaller lakes. Great fishing platform and the grandkids can all have a corner. I have a 40 hp Honda on it and depending on the load get to 16 mph. Also getting about 10 hrs on my 12 gal. Tank. Good luck
Re: new guy looking for advice.
Hi Ron. For a floor plan I got the 7516 cruise. I got it from Tri City Marine in Lunenburg MA. I have put it in the Merrimack River, Nashua boat launch, the Nashua river and Lake Pawtuckaway. No real waves or weather. I am in the Nashua area. I got the 25 hp Merc and if I am in it alone I can get to 15 mph. Everyone who has seen it loves it. Cool feature, I can fit two kayaks on the trailer under the pontoon boat.Mikereno, I have a million questions for you.1st which floor plan did you go with?2nd did you buy from ossippee marine?3rd have you had it on the big lakes If so how did it do?Also where are you in NH? oh almost forgot how much hp and top speed if you know.
Re: new guy looking for advice.
That's better speed than I expected, not bad.I'm 1/4 mile from the merrimack, that may be my main spot. It's places like the nashua river that make me want a small boat.So many spots around here that are fairly hard to get into. Thanks again guys.
