I haven't had time to post until today. Last weekend was perfect temps in high 80's water temp at 84! Man we had a great time!
I still didn't get on the tube! My son-in-law Zach went and had a blast on near perfect water. I just wasn't feeling it for some reason.
I was bummed out when we got down to our place to find out the cover had a 6 ft split in it from side to side right over the bow couches. There was some pooled water at the bow but nothing more than has been there before. I am pretty sure it is covered under warranty. Waiting to hear back from Jim at PontoonStuff.
We bought a new cover for our big camper that thing should keep the moisture out. I have had a hard time getting the roof sealed. We will be redoing some was come spring time.
This is the most we have gone out in 5 years. Man it sure helps having a great looking toon to enjoy the lake on!

question for you guys. When you have your toon beached like that, how do you get it back in the water later on? do you just push it? what if the tide got even lower, wouldn't the toon be stuck? Also do you worry about any rocks damaging the toon bottom?

Funny you ask! Usually we beach at a spot that isn't as shallow and it isn't a problem. We found this new beach that we like a lot better but it is a lot more shallow. This time we were stuck pretty good. But there were plenty of people to push us off. Truman is almost entirely mud bottom with scattered rocks, so we haven't had an issue with rocks yet. Not much of a tide at an inland lake.... although it does lower some depending on how much water they are running out of the damn dam.

Kyle, I recently beached mine in the same spot that another toon had just pulled out of. Current shifted it and broke off the depth finder transducer. Replacement part was over $80.

Ha! The second time I beached my boat, I broke the ladder off when trying to push it back to deeper water. That was a $150 fix. We don't really beach anymore...

Looks like you had another great weekend! Not quite ready to winterize mine yet. We like to bundle up in October and do a leaf turning booze cruise and spend the night up in Dubuque. Supposed to be a balmy 67 out tomorrow, so I might take the boat out for a bit. De-mildewing the bimini top today. Did the boot yesterday just to make sure it wouldn't get ruined in the washing machine.
Beaching! Its kind of a live and learn thing. I always load up the grandkids and toys, then push the boat out just enough to get the boat to want to float off on its own before boarding everyone else. If its just Denise and I, I'll seesaw the outboard side to side while in reverse to back it off, once I'm out of risking running sand and crap through the impellor. Used to anchor off shore with the Baja's and runabouts. But with the pontoon, I have no problem with it, it wears off the Sharkhide on the bottom of the nosecones, but that's easy to fix.
