I am adding an under deck ladder to my toon. The 1st screw holes for the ladder frame will be attached to the cross member (any issues using the cross member for this?)
Also the ladder frame is only 1' deep so I will need to add a 1'X2"X2" spacer for the rear of the frame and bolt through the deck. Any suggestions on what I should make the spacer out of? my 1st though is to use wood and epoxy coat it.

hockey pucks? I'm actually kinda serious, I've used them for various weather proof spacers before.

Yup. Jeep guys use hockey pucks for a 1" body lift on CJ's and Wranglers.
