Well Herb,
I had a Bass Pro Gift Card left over from Christmas.

You just helped me spend it.

It's on the way.

I always skin catfish before filleting them. Always used the pliers or pliers type skinners.

I'll have to try this on catfish.

I'm also going to try it on trout.

Looks another gizmo to part the angler with their money to me. I think I'll stick with my fillet knife.

That's a pwered version of the Townsend Fish Skinner from the 1960s. We had several of them and they worked great. The next time I'm back home, I'll have to see if there's still one in dad's old workshop. Check it out here:

A fillet knife is just as fast on scald fish. I would be interested to know how it does on catfish though.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

I gotta say, I either didn't use this right or I don't have the knack for it.

I personally don't like it. Yet.

I'll give it another try, but it mangled the fillets more than it skinned them.

You know when I first saw the video it occurred to me that it might take a bunch of practice to get it to do that. Hard to beat an electric knife. Especially when you have one of those elevated folding cleaning tables with the sink built in. Just a hint in case any of you were wondering what to get me for Christmas. :)
