Tahoe makes (or used to make) a 14' pontoon that was rated for up to 50hp. I would think that would be the biggest boat you could use based on the motor specs you provided. If you look at the options from Tahoe, they have an Electric E-Drive option and I assume that is an electric motor.

I haven't read every line on the topic, but why is it different from torqeedo? they've been selling these for years. You don't have to guess with theory's on performance or longevity, just look at there trials.

I do not think the product would be useful on my pontoon boat, with my style of boating. Not near enough horsepower.
However, as someone mentioned earlier, I can see a potential market to trailerable sailboats, 18 to 25 feet, if the weight stays around 90 pounds. I sailed a 23ft sloop and the best speed my displacement hull could make under power was something around 6mph. My happy ass would have preferred to flip an "on" switch as opposed to hanging off the stern to pull the starter rope.
Another issue would be charging the batteries.
