Just ordered a 2016 Bentley Elite Admiral 220

#1 Post by haganjeff » Tue Feb 23, 2016 10:19 am

We have been thinking about upgrading the 2006 Sun Tracker Bass Buggy for a while now. I've looked at a lot of boats and decided for my lake and our use to go with a pontoon and a 115HP to save some money over the Tritoons with a 150HP. I currently top out at 18mph, so low 30's will feel like a dream.

The Bentley Elite Admiral is completely changed for 2016. Exterior, interior, everything is different. The quality seems exceptional for this price point. Looked hard at SouthBay / Berkshire, Starcraft, Crest, and Suncatcher G3. Honestly, I was more impressed with the Bentley in many areas, especially interior.

Love the reclining captains chairs and the wide open layout.

Here's what I ordered:

SE Package, Seagrass Flooring, Ski Tow Bar, Lifting Strakes with Underskin, Full LED package (underwater, side, cupholders, speakers, accent lighting), Sunbrella cover, Trolling Motor Pre-Rig, Half Front Gate for trolling, and Tandem Axle Trailer.

Quotes from multiple dealerships ranged mostly from $32k - $36k with trailer. Ended up right around $30,500 so I feel like I got a great deal.

Really excited. Love this open layout floor-plan. Should take 6 weeks to get in. I am trading in my boat so I will be without till the new one comes in.

I've been here a long time, so I know to at least provide some representative pictures of my setup!

Thanks guys. The waiting is the hardest part! 6 weeks to go.

For some reason this boat has a dry weight of 2,280lbs, heavy for a 22' 2 log. The outgoing 2015/2016 model had a dry weight of 1,780. Crazy that it went up 500 lbs! I upgraded from a single axle trailer to a tandem axle because of the weight increase. I did not add brakes as it was another $500. I should have a total package weight around 3,750, so I know that is probably pushing it without brakes. The good part is I keep it slipped, so only tow 2 or 3 times a year for short trips.

Looking forward to being more active on the forum now!

You're just a short distance from Percy Priest and 5 or so other lakes that don't require going up mountains to get to. If you're towing with a proper vehicle, you should be just fine without brakes.

Those Summer sunsets on Percy Priest are really beautiful. They finished the dam and filled it with water my senior year in high school, and we skipped school and went out there daily.
