Custom Mooring Cover

#1 Post by sharky300 » Thu May 05, 2016 1:55 pm

Hi All-

Is it possible to get a custom mooring cover on-line??? or do I need to find a local supplier? I have a nice, full cover, but no matter what I do, I cannot keep water from collecting in the rear of the boat. Now it has a tear in it, so was thinking about spending the money on a cover that will snap in place, and no more worries about what I am going to find every time I pull up at the campgrounds where we keep it stored.

Thanks Jason

Needs to be done locally as the builder needs to have the boat on hand...

The mooring cover on our new Bennington came with a 20' adjustable strap (just like on a life jacket) sewn into the right rear corner, the male end goes over the Bimini top, and snaps into a female buckle sewn into the left rear corner. Adjusting (tightening) the strap lifts both rear corners of the cover and has completely eliminated the pooling of water in the rear corners. It works great.
If you do have a new cover made, do your self a favor and have your cover shop install a strap.

Weathermax 80 - Light weight , stronger and more abrasion resistant than sunbrella - Can be sewn on a home sewing machine

I had Sunbrella on my old flats boat. Over time the material sagged. So far, after 7 months the Weathermax is the same as day one. It is lighter which helps when it comes time to cover the boat.
