I have another question....how would I know for sure if the throttle is going all the way, I'm wondering if I am losing some top end of the throttle because when you put it in gear there is a little play before the engine starts to rev. Thanks!

You need someone to push the throttle wide open (not running) while you check the throttle body to see if the butterflies are opening 100%.

Any good tips on how to do this with the boat in the water? I have pulled the cowling to check the oil level a couple of times and it's a little dicey to say the least dangling over the engine pod. Do I need to pull any of the plastic covers or can I see the throttle body just by pulling the cowl? Thanks!
