Toon Up Brush

#1 Post by C_M_25 » Thu Aug 11, 2016 7:14 pm

You guys ever hear of the toon up brush? Looks like a promising brush to clean gunk off slipped boats. It looks like he is having a little difficulty with his vendors right now, but it is worth keeping your eye on this.

I prefer having my toons bottom painted and they are holding up very well. I wish him well with his brush though.

How often do your toons need repainted and does this keep the growth from accumulating?

Yea, pretty much crap but you gotta give the guy credit for trying. At least it might remove some of the scum..

Let's all don't pile on too hard as I have not seen anyone else on this forum come up with A solution. Or an innovative product other than the bumper holders.

I'd rather pay some kid with a snorkel and a hand brush.

But I'm not sure how many kids these days would want to do any "real" work.

These guys sure would have:

This is the first season that they've been painted so I cannot speak to longevity of the paint. It does look to be holding up very well though. There is a slight coating of slime (for lack of a better description). However, there is zero growth hanging off of it. I think when I pull it for the season that a quick light spray of water from my power washer will clean it right off. The paint that is on there is Trilux 33 manufactured by Interlux.

"Trilux 33 is compatible with primed aluminum and is also excellent for use on fiberglass, wood and steel. It uses the latest Biolux® technology to block slime and improve antifouling performance. Trilux® 33 uses two biocides that work together to increase antifouling performance and Biolux® Technology to block slime. Trilux 33 is not only the preferred choice on pleasure yachts, it has an extensive track record on commercial vessels including navy boats."
