Scissor-lift trailers, wheel cut-outs or straight frame?
I need to buy a 24ft scissor lift trailer to pull a pontoon dock in and out of the Mississippi River each spring/fall. I noticed some scissor-lift trailers have wheel cut-outs in the top rails and some don't. Which design is better? Any advice from an experienced scissor-lift trailer owner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I bought a mid American scissor lift trailer for my pontoon, it does not have the cutouts but they do make one, the cutouts allow the trailer to lower the deck more to allow the pontoons to rest directly on the ground, I bought the toon blocks to hold my boat. I bought my trailer from Paul's Marine in Elkhart IN Just google "trailersforpontoons" and their web site will come up, a lot of good information on there on all trailer types. They had the best price anywhere and great service. they even came in on Saturday so i could pick up with out taking time off work.

Thanks for feedback CrookedLaker. Much appreciated. I did not realize the wheel cut-out allow the trailer to drop down lower. I was looking at buying a Wolverine 24' scissor-lift trailer off eBay but was wondering why it didn't have wheel cut-outs. Anyone out there have any experience with Wolverine brand scissor lifts?

my buddy bought one of their bunk trailers, not very impressed, looks like a rusty piece of **** after one season, looks cheap. look for the mid american I love mine.
I think they make them in MO., not sure where you live but may not be far from you.
I would buy a Hoosier or mid american before a wolvereen.
