Why would stainless perform better, if it were the same diameter and pitch as an aluminum prop?
Stainless props can hold the water better due to better cupping and thinner blades allowed by the material. Sometimes that extra bite can make enough of a difference in "traction" that the stainless will avoid blowing out where a similar aluminum would blow out. Other times a stainless would barely make any difference. My setup does not like 3 blade aluminum props but 3 blade stainless/4 blade aluminum work very well. One thing to watch for on 4 cylinder 4 strokes is heavy stainless props like to "chatter" at trolling/no wake speed
