MUST be a better way to mount a transducer...

#1 Post by guy48065 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 9:01 am

My boat's PO mounted the locator transducer on the (R) keel rib.
It does work but is vulnerable to bumping, dragging and trailer damage. How can I mount it better when there's no bracket provided?

I'm surprised that even works. Have a proper bracket welded to the Starboard pontoon.

I bought a glue-on plastic mounting block at Bass Pro... Is that any good?

Welding really not an option out in BFE .

Atlanta MI is not BFE but that was my 2nd thought of using JB-Weld 24-Hour Epoxy on well cleaned and abraded alum to a block of plastic also abraded...
