Hello
My current setup is a 2012 Mercury 4 stroke 115hp with a smart craft gauge.
I am planning on getting a 2016 Mercury 150hp 4 stroke.
I am hoping to just move the old motor and hang the new one but I'm sure it's not that easy.
Any advise on the real process would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Motor swap help needed.
If both motors have the same length lower unit, you should have no problem swapping them using the same holes. And the Smartcraft gauge should just plug in.
Had you gone with a Verado motor, you would have had to replace the throttle binnacle to one that's fly by wire. What's nice about the 150 FourStroke is that you can make it as simple or as complicated as you want.

Hanging motor is relatively easy but you need to check out potential warranty issues, Many manufactures require that their motors must be installed by a qualified tech or any warranty becomes nullified.
