Sorry to read that.... I hope it's by your personal choice that you don't put on many hours. We are in our first year and get as much time on the water as we can. Without much rain earlier this year, we did not miss many weekends (and went through plenty of gas) checking out the dockable restaurants, channels and just general floating around. But with recent rains, it's been almost 2 weeks without getting the prop wet and we're not happy.
If history repeats itself for us (me), someday in the future we will over do it and probably not put on many hours on a yearly basis. I remember only putting 300 miles in a year on our last motorcycle before selling it. I hope it's not the case for this - We're having too much fun and we are noticing a different side of homes - and people- while cruising residential channels. It's hard for me to describe.

About $3200 a year. Covered, 10x24, water, electric, with two 6' dock boxes.
When I first rented it I felt I was getting robbed but the convenience of not having to launch and load the boat every time I go out is worth it. (First year I had the boat I used it three times. I'm normally out by myself and launching/loading is just a huge hassle. Once I got the slip I'm out at least one day every weekend.)

$1000 for the season - April 15 - October 31. Not covered. Power and water available at the dock entrance. I do have the outside slip so we can sit on the boat and watch the traffic if we want to.

When I lived in Memphis, we'd pull a boat 120 miles to Pickwick Dam very often. We'd ride and drink beer all day long--pulling skiers, etc. Then we'd drive back home the same day--dead dog tired.
With a large lake in your front yard, we can go out any time for just a few minutes' ride. Or, the grandkids can get all the tube riding they can handle in 20 minutes. We also often ride 1/2 mile out to the middle of the river at night, cut off the engine and just float listening to the radio for hours. We also will take Fall leaf watching rides up until late November.
We use our boats. We just don't use'em for hours and hours at one time. And it's sure nice to be able to run back home to the bathroom in just a few minutes.

We pay $175/month for a covered 30 ft slip with an electric box right next to the boat.
We have the option to rent a lift for an additional $150/month which seems kinda steep, but the loss of speed as a result of junk growing on the toons is annoying enough to maybe justify it. It would be nice to just leave it on the lift year round too.

I pay $140 per month for inside storage at Lewis Smith Lake in Alabama. If we are coming to the lake, we call ahead and the boat will be in the water awaiting us. When we leave, they pick the boat up wait a forklift and put it back in dry storage. Trailer parking is $20 per month. Non Ethanol gas is available at the dock. If you give the deck hand a tip, he will put the cover on to keep Spider and Bird Poop out. Family owned operation.

Crazy rental prices up here in southern Wisconsin. The most popular lakes within ten minutes of us get 2,500.00 for a pier mooring , nothing else , no electricity, most no rest rooms , as these are private people renting these out. No marinas here. Season is from sometime in April to end of September. I moor on a small , 260 acre lake , about twenty minutes away. Same deal, no amenities, a pier at a private home. It's only 750.00 for the season, and the lake is crystal clear.
