US Marine Control

#1 Post by pontoonsaloon » Wed May 31, 2017 6:16 am

Help! I'm needing some ideas, info, on moving my US Marine control from the left side of my console to the right side, probably attach it to the fence on a piece of aluminum plate. Right now it is jut plain in the way! Not sure why it was mounted there in the first place! . This is all 1989 Landau, pontoon, 50hp Force, US Marine control. Should, could this be taken apart at the helm end or at the engine end ??
Thankyou in advance!

the motor controls can be taken apart to be able to change the cables (i assume this what you mean). which you will probably have to do anyway, When you change the location your existing cables are probably going to be to long and will make for stiff operation.
I'm not personally familiar with that set up so i can't help with how to do it.

If your cables come up centered in the console your length might be correct mounted on either side. As said the control can be opened, the cable positions swapped and the quadrant re-positioned. I had to do this on my previous boat and was lucky I had the manual for the control. You can probably find the directions online but it's not too confusing inside the control box.
