pontoon seat repair or replacment??

#1 Post by k5guy38 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 9:28 am

So I took the cover off our 2005 sanpan this weekend to find coons have destroyed some seats and what have you.. Does any one know where to purchase new seats of the same quality and style ? The manufacture of the pontoon said they don't sell them. I am looking into getting them redone but I know some companys sell just the skins so that way all they have to stuff them and install them.. Any help would be great..

Ouch... another reason not to like Racoons.

You might check with an upholstery shop and see if they can fix the messed up seats with marine grade vinyl. I'm not aware of anyone that make just the covers. Although that would be cool. I'm somewhat new to pontoons so I am sure others know much more than me on this.

You might consider looking over at https://www.pontoonstuff.com/collection ... boat-seats
They have a good assortment. I priced having my seats redone by a fairly high end boat upholstery shop in Austin Texas - - $7K. Think I'll be waiting a bit.

Bummer.... Hate to hear that.
My 10 year old boat also is in need of seat repair. Manly the cushions were one sits on. I had one shop wanting about $700 just to replace the vinyl on 5 seat bottoms. I'm gonna wait. Pontoonstuff.com has some replacements. It can get pricey. It's all about what you want to spend.
As for me, I'm going the duct tape route this year! Kids don't care what the boat looks like :)

Im guessing at least 5 grand.. The problem is i love the color that we have now and no one offers a color in a aftermarket that matches.. Insurance said they will cover 5 grand with no questions and over that they will have to question what the boats worth.. We shall see what they say tomarrow at the quote..

If you're lucky enough to have a boat model they carry, Great Lakes Skipper carries "Seat Skins" that can save you a bunch of money.

This is a great idea that I wish was more popular. I don't know if they don't sell well because most people won't go to the trouble of re-covering, or everyone else just want to force you into buying complete new seats.
