I have a 90 and it is economical to run. The problem for me is DYI servicing. Plugs must be indexed so you could buy plugs and 1 or 2 might not index. No refunds on plugs. Changing impeller is a pain because getting everything lined up includes the shift rod that connects under the powerhead.

I looked into getting an E-Tec and decided not to get one. There are marine dealers in Florida that refuse to work on them. Type "Etec problems" on a search and look at some of the issues.

We've got an etech and have run it for five or six years with no problems. Quiet, efficient, does what we want it to. Love the self-winterizing feature! No, we don't service it ourselves, but it only needs service every three years or 300 hours. Since we haven't had any issues, this has not been a problem.
