Seat too close to helm
I'm a pretty tall dude, and when you buy a used pontoon sometimes the captains chair isn't in the best location for you to fit comfortably.
So I remove the captain's chair so I can push it back farther so I can fit, surprisingly it was just screwed into the floor, not even bolted in. Of course the carpet is squished down where the mounting base was so I decided to make a 3/4" base out of birch to cover the squished carpet. I sealed it then used contact cement to attach this cool diamond plate vinyl. Get everything lined up, drill holes for stainless bolts, and bolt both bases down. It actually came out great!

Thank you! This past weekend was the last straw of the seat being too close...it drove me nuts.

and you can get a pedestal that adjusts fore and aft if yours doesn't.

Really like the look of the diamond plate. Nice cosmetic fix!

Re: Seat too close to helm
Mine’s a little close, but it’s an upholstered double seat. I sit with my legs angled a bit to the left.
