#1 Post by papaphil » Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:04 am

Was wondering how important is it to get my 200 Suzuki in for it's 20 hr service... Just turned over 20 hrs Sunday, Also what do they do for the 20 hr service...Atlanta Inboard wants $267 plus $100 to pull the boat out of the water and put it back. I don't have a trailer.

Wow, its a 07 Crest, and you just now made it to 20 hours? :paranoid
You need to get out more! :rofl

I'd say its a pretty important service point, being a new engine and all.

I did mine myself.
I changed the oil, oil filter, and gear lube.
Dropped it back in the lake and off i went! :alright

Cost like $60 in materials.

Thanks for the reply. It was a left over. I got it in Sept. but the weather has been a problem around here. I've done the gear oil on my old 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke. However I had a trailer. Guess I'll have to try and find a trailer, or suck it up and pay the bucks. I've seen kits/pumps to change the engine oil while the boat is in the water but I don't know how wise that is for someone like me. I'm going camping this weekend and we will be using the boat if the weather permits. I wonder if a few hrs past 20 would be O.K. then get it in for service next week.

Going a few hrs over is no big deal, but have the 20 hr service completed . oil and filter will be change .Suzuki tech will plug in OBE port and look at several items and give you a print out (for your records)and go over these items with you. Tech should pull all 6 plugs, check lower unit lube and reset oil change alarm, and you will be good to go until 100 hr but change oil at least once per year do not wait on 100 hr alarm
