Toon is in the driveway

#1 Post by JC7274 » Tue Apr 27, 2010 7:56 am

Well, my "new to me" toon is in the driveway. We towed it back from South Carolina this weekend and it was pretty uneventful (knock on wood). Yesterday, I spent most of the day cleaning the toons and fence. I should complete the fence today and plan to drop it in the water tomorrow and pics will follow. I do have a question, I noticed the carpet at the rear of the boat (by the motor behind the fence) is in really bad shape. However, the rest of the carpet is in excellent condition and doesn't need to be replaced. I don't want to remove the damaged carpet and leave exposed wood or leave the carpet and have a rot issue later. Any ideas on how to resolve/repair this?

I'm new to tooning, so I'm probably not the best for advice, but have you thought about putting down some vinyl flooring just in the back of the boat behind the fence?

Check this out: http://www.pontoonspecialists.com/c-49- ... oring.aspx

I would think about putting down some turfdeck or something that meshes well with the carpet you have on the rest of the boat.

See if you can find some matching, or close to it in color, carpet somewhere. Try overtons, Boaters world, or hell, even Home Depot. Our Local Home Depot had a big selection of indoor/outdoor carpet, and could easilly replace a section or the entire boat with a reasonable price.
