Adding a Pop Up Changing Room & Sink?

#1 Post by Surly Mermaid » Sat Jul 10, 2010 4:48 pm

We will be camping for a few days at a time on our floating RV and I would like a few delicate amenities, if you will.

Any one added/installed a pop up changing room/ porta potti room? (I will call mine the powder room, thank you very much! )

We have a lot of space in the aft and I found a few sites that sell them. I also want a sink console, but will probably have to have the Mr fabricate that, as the ones I've found are ridiculously over priced!

The pop ups I've found are expensive, too. But you get a padded sun deck in the bargain...which I would adore! I can see myself oiled up and lounging in the sun with my giant glasses and hat! I can hear the ice clinking already! 8) Dreamy....

So if any one has installed one or has one, would you recommend it? Why or why not? Thanks!!

Changing room is the only thing my wife specified as a must have when we were shopping for a toon. Sink would be nice but with all the new hand cleaners and such I'm not sure how much it would be used. A friend has one on her boat and never uses it.

You could check out a product called, Cover your Bass. It is a pop up tent shaped thing that has a front and back door so you can leave it up on a boat during the day, walk from one end to the other, use as a sun and rain shelter, changing room, play house for the little, or big, ones, haha.
When we were looking for a pontoon we found several we really liked with no changing room so this was a consideration, we did end up buying a new boat the way we wanted, but it would be a nice option especially with little kids, or for an overnight.
But when you are done it just folds up like a windshield sun screen and pops into a storage bag.
For us, a jug of water to rinse hands or whatever and a roll or paper towel is good enough, we use all available floor space with skis, tubes, and coolers when we go out. If the floor gets a little wet, hey its a boat.
